Website Design & Development for Dental Practices

It’s a Team Effort

Our graphic design and web development departments work incredibly closely to make the best possible website for you. Designers use fonts, colours, imagery, and layouts to create pages that capture the user’s attention, align with your brand, and communicate the essence of who you are as a practice. Meanwhile, our developers go through all the design elements to make sure your site looks stunning without compromising functionality or speed.

If your website is a building, your graphic designer is the architect, and your developer is the engineer. Together, they take your website from concept to creation.

Exploring Your Vision

You tell us what you want to see. We’ll take your vision and run with it, taking inspiration from your office interiors, your corporate identity, and everything in between.

Getting Started

Exploring Your Vision

It all starts with a little bit of recon. We’ll go through your current site, look at your colours, typography, logo, and photos of your practice’s interior if we can. Our research is far-reaching and covers demographics, local landmarks, and other elements that might influence your design. We’ll even get a feel for what your competitors are doing to help you stand out from everyone else.

In the meantime, you’ll fill out special document early-on in the foundational discovery phase. This document serves as our jumping-off point.
With all of this background information, we’re now in a position to ask you some specific questions based on what we know so far. We’ll sit down with you to discuss your needs and make sure we have the answers we’re after. Of course, this is also your chance to ask us questions and make any special requests you might have.

We develop brand recognition by ensuring consistency
through your online presence & physical location.

Getting It Done

Colours, Textures, & Typography

Now we have some decisions to make. We’ll take the time to pull the images we think will speak to your intended demographic, and fonts that will stand out in all the right ways. If you’ve already settled on your colours, we’ll work on incorporating textures that tie into your office’s interior decor and design to create a consistent and recognizable brand. We believe your website should be an extension of your office.

If you haven’t settled on your full colour palette, we’ll develop a scheme that works with your logo and practice decor to create a consistent and brand-aligned theme.

With all of these decisions made, we can move on to layout. We’ll create composite pages that excite the eye and draw web users in. All of our layouts are based on extensive testing and have proven to be highly effective.

Your Seal of Approval

With our composite design ready to go, we hand it to our Art Director and Senior Website Developer for the go-ahead. Nothing goes forward without their approval.

Finally, we’ll meet with you over the phone to present our design. Every choice we make in the design process comes from a distinct line of reasoning. We’ll tell you why we made the decisions we did and ask for your first impressions. Once we know you’re happy with what we’ve done, we pass it on to development to build it.

Made to SmileShop Standards

We Know What Works

We’ve made a whole lot of websites in our time. Not only that, we’ve carefully tested and monitored each one; recording the results and learning from them. As a result, we’ve developed a set of standards for building websites that work. Think of it as a recipe for a well-performing website. As long as all the foundational elements are still in place, we can garnish, season, and serve your website however you like.

We’re also big believers in attention to detail. Your website goes through 3 quality assurance audits (each run by a different department) before it launches. Once your site is live, we run yet another quality assurance audit.

Focused on User Experience

Fast & Responsive Sites

At this point in history, the most successful websites aren’t the ones with timely gifs or funny cat videos (although we do love a good cat video.) The most successful websites are the ones that prioritize user experience. Our main goal when building your website is making sure users can find what they’re looking for and do what they want to do without friction or frustration.

In 2018, 51.56% of global internet traffic came from mobile devices like phones and tablets. If your website doesn’t display properly on a smartphone, almost 52% of web users will probably find another website that will. We invest a lot of time to make sure your site is mobile responsive, so it displays properly on all types of screens and devices.

And of course, speed is another major factor. Current research indicates that roughly 53% of internet users will leave a website if it hasn’t loaded in 3 seconds. What’s even more troubling is that most users will not revisit a website that took too long to load.

All of our websites employ a range of strategies to keep load times short and bounce rates low. It’s not enough for us to get users to your site. We want their experience to be good enough to keep them there.

Ongoing Maintenance

Campaigns & Updates

Even once your site has launched, our incredible team of web developers make regular updates to your website. In addition to implementing your new campaign every few months, we can make any changes necessary to keep your website relevant. Whether it’s adding a new staff member’s bio, highlighting a new service with a dedicated landing page, or adjusting your hours, we’re dedicated to keeping your website up-to-date.

Continuous Optimization

As we make these changes and updates, we continue to evaluate your site speed to make sure the revisions haven’t caused your load times to slip. Your site will always adhere to our aggressive site speed standards.
